Soft & Cozy

Company Profile: A distributor of socks and other apparel from New Zealand.

Objective: To convey wool as cute and fluffy without using a sheep, which is instantly recognizable as a symbol for wool. The logo needed to stay simple enough to adapt easily to a range of applications, from print to web to embroidery. A full compliment of creative services was required, including print design, photography and web design/development were deployed to launch the Soft & Cozy brand.

Slogan: "From Ewe to You." is simply stated; a homonym that was devised from the wool based apparel that Soft & Cozy offers to customers.

Design & Color Theory: Lambsock, Soft & Cozy's mascot, a friendly little lamb who you can't help but smile at, played an important role in the design of the identity. Soft, cozy and cuddly just like the concept for the logo; a bold logotype with "puffy" ridges and overlapped for added casualness. Supporting typography was in a sans-serif font that was chosen for its rounded characters. For color, a neutral brown, pulled from the natural color of wool, was selected.

The sales sheet was used rather than a small catalog because it was just as effective and more economical. The product line, colors available and brief description were all able to be included without cluttering the piece. A label for the outdoor comfort socks feature a fisherman near a group of sheep in the mountains, communicating quickly the outdoor aspect of these socks as well as what they are made from. The tags created for the socks feature Lambsock and on the reverse a stack of the socks in that line to show the different colors the socks are available in.
