Company Profile: SinLur Stoneworks is a purveyor of fine marble and granite products.
Objective: SinLur which means "New Happiness" is named after the town Xin Le (Sin Lur) in China, where stone artisans create their works of art. This new company needed an image.
Design & Color Theory: We felt that modern design complimented the ancient art of stonework offering a timeless and distinctive visual identity. "SinLur" is in a thin, condensed sans-serif typeface with "stoneworks" in a chiseled-like script typeface combining contemporary with artistically traditional styles. The company's name set in yellow, known to be one of the happiest of colors, with it's complimentary color, purple, used to help the name stand out. A half image of an illustrated buddha offers the perfect balance and tranquility to the identity. In some instances the logo does not have the buddha but instead Chinese words for Xin Le (Sin Lur), above and below the logotype.
Postcards were created with SinLur stone pieces in a beautiful natural setting. This imagery puts you in the middle of a garden and shows you how stone pieces can blend into nature or stand out.
The catalog features SinLur's product line in the forefront with illustrations of flowers and plants as well as actual SinLur stone pieces accenting most pages; serving as a simplified garden setting within the catalog. The illustrations are in yellow to add a subtle softness to the marble and granite products. Purple boxes hold reversed white text that tell a story about the stonework on the page. By keeping the products inside on a white background, the focus is on each piece, the beauty of the stone and the quality of the craftsmanship. |
