Company Profile: A landmark of luxury on the Big Island's Kohala Coast, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel overlook one of the finest natural white sand beaches in Hawaii.

Objective: The resorts needed a garden guide that had a sophisticated style while maintaining an approachable, island-friendly feel.

Design & Color Theory: Captivating cover imagery of native Hawaiian flowers was used to attract a tourists attention. Photography of the tropical plant life is a visual guide while a brief description and/or history serves as an informational tour. It was important that the guide be an easy read with copy that was understandable to a diverse audience. The colors used for each guide were taken from the color of each hotel's existing logo. The end piece was an eye catching tour booklet to be handed out by the concierge and displayed in the hotel's lobby. The booklet had to pack a lot of information, yet be small enough to be easily carried by travelers.
